Corinthians rely on strong record v Cruzeiro in Brasileirão final

On the morning of this Sunday, the 7th, Corinthians begins the quest for their seventh title in the Brazilian Women's Championship. In a match at Arena Independência, in Belo Horizonte, at 10:30 am (Brasília time), the Brabas face Cruzeiro in the first leg of the national final, aiming to gain an advantage for the return match, which will only take place next day 14 at the Neo Química Arena.

The match marks yet another clash between two of the best teams in the sport this season. The duel has already happened three times this year, with two victories for the Brabas (1 x 0 in the semifinals of the Supercopa do Brasil and 4 x 2 in the first phase of the Brasileirão) and one draw (1 x 1 in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, with the Alvinegras advancing on penalties).

The numbers reflect Corinthians' good record against the Minas Gerais team. In total, there have been 11 matches between the teams since 2020, when they first faced each other. Of these, the Alvinegro won nine, drew one, and lost one. The Brabas scored 29 goals and conceded 16, with an overall points yield of 84.5%. The record includes a final, played in the 2024 Supercopa do Brasil, which was won by Corinthians 1 x 0.
