Corinthians return to training, eyes set on Copa do Brasil final

After securing a spot in the Copa do Brasil final by eliminating Cruzeiro in penalties last Sunday (14th), Corinthians held their first training session on the afternoon of this Monday (15th), focusing on the tournament's final. This Wednesday (17th), the Alvinegro will host Vasco da Gama at 9:30 PM (Brasília time) at the Neo Química Arena.

The players who played more than 45 minutes in the match against Cruzeiro participated in a regenerative activity inside the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center. The rest, meanwhile, did strength training in the gym and later moved to the field. After a warm-up with a ball possession exercise, a confrontation drill on a reduced field was conducted.

For the match, Corinthians has eight players with two yellow cards who, if cautioned in the first leg of the final, will miss the decisive game at Maracanã on Sunday (21st) at 6:30 PM (Brasília time). They are: defenders Gustavo Henrique and André Ramalho, right-back Matheuzinho, left-back Fabrizio Angileri, midfielder Maycon, and midfielders Breno Bidon and Rodrigo Garro.

Three-time Copa do Brasil champion (1995, 2002, and 2009), Corinthians is aiming to win the tournament after 16 years. Since then, they have been runners-up twice (2018 and 2022) and reached the semifinals twice (2023 and 2024). In the current edition of the competition, the Alvinegro has eliminated: Novorizintino (third round), Palmeiras (round of 16), Athletico-PR (quarterfinals), and Cruzeiro (semifinals) – scoring 10 goals and conceding two.
