Corinthians had a busy Friday at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. With an eye on the challenges of the second half of the season, the black-and-white squad underwent a series of preventive exams and physical assessments aimed at the run of competitions in 2026.

The activities began in the morning with cardiology tests, carried out in partnership with Hospital Sírio-Libanês. The players also underwent ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology evaluations, conducted by CEMA Hospital. Afterwards, the athletes took part in a physical activity session on the field.

Corinthians’ head of medical department, Ricardo Galotti, explained the pre-participation evaluation process carried out annually with the black-and-white squad. According to the doctor, the exams are preventive in nature and involve the integration of several areas of sports medicine, including cardiological screenings and complementary evaluations, with the goal of identifying any clinical changes early and ensuring the athletes’ safety throughout the season.

“We are carrying out the pre-participation evaluation, which is done every year with the aim of preventing possible pathologies, both in the cardiology area and in ENT and ophthalmology. Here in this department, we are doing the electrocardiogram, the stress test and the echo, in partnership with Sírio, which once again came to our training center to provide its entire structure. And in the hotel area, we are doing the ophthalmology and ENT evaluations, also to improve the athletes’ performance and address possible visual or ENT problems,” the doctor said.

“The exams are mandatory; they are mandatory guidelines from the CBF and the Brazilian Society of Exercise and Sports Medicine. And for tomorrow, we need to send these exams to Sírio, to the CBF, and to Conmebol. It is a safeguard for the health of all the athletes, to help us avoid possible cardiac events that may occur”, Ricardo Galotti added.

In the afternoon, the group underwent strength and isometry assessments, in addition to muscle-strengthening work in the gym, continuing the coaching staff’s plan for the resumption of competitions. Corinthians will have a busy schedule in the second half of the year, with commitments in the Brazilian Championship and Round of 16 clashes in the Copa do Brasil and the CONMEBOL Libertadores.

Under head coach Fernando Diniz, the squad returns to training this Saturday (27) in two sessions. The team’s first official commitment in the second half of the season will be a friendly against Cascavel-PR, scheduled for July 12 at 4 p.m. at Estádio Municipal Arnaldo Busato, in Cascavel, Paraná.

The match will serve as preparation for Timão ahead of the resumption of domestic and continental competitions, considered the club’s priorities in its pursuit of titles in 2026.
