Corinthians to split football revenues from other sports from 2026

According to information published by UOL Esporte, Corinthians will separate its revenues from football and other sports – such as basketball and futsal – starting from the 2026 season. President Osmar Stabile had already announced this measure in a meeting held with the Advisory Council (CORI) on October 29th.

In a meeting held with directors last Thursday (6th), at Parque São Jorge – the social headquarters of Corinthians – President Osmar Stabile reinforced what he had said in the meeting with CORI. The president stated that, starting January next year, football resources will not be used to financially support the club's social sports.

However, this does not necessarily mean that sports like futsal and basketball – which have professional teams – will be discontinued. However, the activities of both categories will be 'frozen' until they can secure resources for operation. Therefore, the plan is for all modalities linked to the terrestrial sports department to seek their own resources aiming for self-sustainability.

Additionally, there will be a division of the cost center concerning employees, separating them between football, social club – departments – and Neo Química Arena. The measure taken by Osmar Stabile generated some discontent at the beginning of the meeting, but the president remained adamant about the action.

Meanwhile, the women's football department and youth futsal will be maintained. Employees of both sectors will be incorporated into the football cost center. Regarding futsal, the maintenance is related to the fact that the youth categories of the modality – up to Under-17 – serve as a training ground for field football.

As for women's football, part of the sponsorship funds from Esportes da Sorte (main sponsor) are allocated to the department. Frequently, Íris Sesso, the director of the modality, meets with Osmar Stabile to discuss new partnerships for the Brabas team. By law, it is mandatory for South American clubs to have women's teams to compete in Conmebol competitions, such as the Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores.
