Corinthians Women’s midfielder starts for Venezuela in draw with Ecuador

One of the six players called up for this FIFA date, midfielder Dayana Rodríguez took the field last Friday (28th). Playing for the Venezuelan national team, the midfielder started in the match against Ecuador in the Women's Nations League, at the Estadio Olímpico de Atahualpa in Quito, which ended in a 0-0 draw.

She was on the field for 83 minutes before being substituted by Lourdes Moreno, a player from Grêmio. Day is considered an undisputed starter under Ricardo Belli’s command in Venezuela, and is constantly used in the fight for a spot in the Women's World Cup, which will take place in 2027.

Only the top two teams in the standings secure a spot in the next World Cup, which will take place in Brazil. Venezuela is currently in second place, with five points, but could be overtaken by Argentina and Peru, who have one game less.

The other Corinthians players called up for this FIFA date are from the Brazilian National Team. Goalkeeper Lelê, defenders Mariza and Thaís Ferreira, and midfielders Duda Sampaio and Gabi Zanotti did not stay at Timão’s training center for practices ahead of the Paulista Women's semifinal.

The decisive match is scheduled for December 4th, against São Paulo. The ball will roll on the Neo Química Arena pitch, starting at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), with the Brabas holding the advantage on the scoreboard.
