Coritiba are targeting Santos striker Tiquinho Soares to spearhead their 2026 attack. The 35-year-old is seeking a fresh start and views Coxa as a chance to reclaim prominence.

According to Globo.com, he is contracted at Santos until the end of 2027 but has had limited minutes at Vila Belmiro, affected by a muscle injury, an oedema, coaching changes and, above all, Gabigol’s arrival as first choice.

In 2025 he played 40 games, scoring seven with four assists, a return shaped by that stop-start year. The player and his representatives are seeking an amicable termination with Santos to become a free agent and play regularly.

Coritiba are in frequent contact with his camp. They consider him the missing piece in an attack reinforced by Pedro Rocha, Lavega, Fabinho and Breno Lopes, yet still short of a reference number nine.

His Botafogo spell encourages the move, with the forward pivotal between 2022 and 2024 in the 2024 Libertadores and Campeonato Brasileiro triumphs. Coritiba believe that level could return with a guaranteed starting role.
