Sergio Conceicao’s time at AC Milan looks almost certain to be heading towards a departure after six months, but it could be done sooner if results need it to.
The rumours about Conceicao’s future and situation are only growing, and they have been for a few months now. As ever, Milan have remained a troubling book to read and now there is a very real chance of this season, yet again, being a failure.
It is one to forget, for sure, but the appointment in January was supposed to elevate the squad in the long-term. However, the Rossoneri have failed to do this, instead regressing largely, and now an appointment, which could have been the start of the future, just looks like the prolonging of the past.
Rather than looking for a new start now, again though, the club will look to wait it out until the summer in an ideal world. However, there were serious suggestions that another defeat could be the reason for that to change.
A 3-2 comeback altered that though, as the side showed they had remnants of something within them. Because of this, as reported by Corriere della Sera (via Milan News), the Portuguese head coach is ‘safe for now’.
Another defeat would have ended the ‘adventure’, but the changes made in the second half showed that there is still something to offer from the coach.
