According to Florian Plettenberg, Galatasaray are interested in signing Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané this summer on a free transfer.
Whilst the winger prefers to stay in Munich, the club are still hesitant as to whether to offer him a new deal or not. With this in mind, could Sané be tempted to join the Turkish giants this summer?
As things stand, the German international is fully focused on the current season with Bayern and determined to prove his worth to the club’s bosses.
Having played 11 Bundesliga matches this season, Sané has netted three times and assisted once.
At the beginning of the season, the winger seemed to be out of favour and was only being used from the bench.
However, in the lead up to the winter break, Sané has started the last five Bundesliga games without being substituted and also scored in the last two fixtures.
Should this trend continue, you’d feel that head coach Vincent Kompany is happy with the 28 year old and would be willing for him to sign an extension.
The decision would then lie with the Bayern bosses. Should they continue to hesitate, Sané could be tempted to join a club which are showing genuine interest in his ability.
That is where Galatasaray could come in.
They’ve put their cards on the table this January and will remain a positive alternative for Sané. Though it seems unlikely right now, the longer Bayern stall, the better Galatasaray’s chances become.
