Corinthians beat Gotham FC 1-0 on Wednesday to reach the Fifa Women’s Club World Cup final.
Former club executive Cris Gambaré, now Brazil’s women’s team technical coordinator since March 2024, attended to back the Brabas in London, speaking to the CBF.
"We are in London to show our support for Corinthians, to follow Brazilian players and witness a historic moment for women’s football," she said. "This initiative strengthens the game, especially a year out from the Women’s World Cup in Brazil, and a Brazilian team in the finals reflects how our competitions are approaching a world level."
Before the match, a Brazilian delegation including head coach Arthur Elias and CBF vice-president Michelle Ramalho attended a Fifa-sanctioned Women in Football congress.
The event featured figures such as Lianne Sanderson, Jill Ellis and Tobin Heath, who praised the rise of the Brasileirão Feminino and Corinthians’ form.
Elias managed the Brabas from 2016 to 2023. Gambaré led the department in the same period before leaving in 2024.
For the 2027 Women’s World Cup, Neo Química Arena will host seven matches, including a semi-final, and CT Dr. Joaquim Grava will be a training base.
Corinthians are the first team into the Copa das Campeãs final, to be played on Sunday, 1 February at 15:00 Brasília time at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal.
