Cristhian Mosquera has confirmed that he will leave Valencia this summer, as he nears a move to Arsenal.

The Spanish centre-back is set to make the switch to north London in a reported €15million, which could rise to just under €20million with add-ons.

Personal terms have been agreed with the 21-year-old, who has now revealed that he is leaving the club that he has spent nine years at.

Leaning out of his car window, Mosquera told reporters outside Valencia’s training ground: "Valencia is my home and it always will be.

“I arrived when I was 12, and now I am leaving as a grown man. [I am] a little sad because [I have] been here [my] whole life, but decisions in football are like that. Now a new era begins.

"I prefer the club to talk first, and then whatever happens, it will happen,” Mosquera added on his impending move to Arsenal. “It's exciting, but it's also sad.”

Mosquera was one game away from being an ever-present for Valencia in La Liga last term, as he played 37 games, scoring once in a 2-0 win over Leganes.

Valencia, now managed by former West Brom manager Carlos Corberan, finished 12th in the Spanish top flight.

Mosquera has not yet made his full international debut for Spain, but he won an Olympic gold medal at Paris 2024 with his country.
