Cristiano Ronaldo remains in Riyadh and is training with Al-Nassr, despite claims he had downed tools amid anger over January. He continues to work as normal while speculation swirls over his next move.

Record writes that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has not gone AWOL and has attended every scheduled session. He is expected to take part in Wednesday’s workout under manager Jorge Jesus.

The clarification arrives as Al-Nassr prepare to face Al-Ittihad on Friday. Ronaldo’s dissatisfaction is said to stem from a chaotic window in which he felt Al-Nassr lacked backing while rivals gained ground.

Tensions focused on Karim Benzema’s proposed move from Al-Ittihad to leaders Al-Hilal, who are one point ahead of Al-Nassr. Ronaldo was understood to be incensed by the prospect and moved to oppose it.

A return to the Portuguese league has been ruled out. Turning 41 on Thursday, he believes he can still operate in MLS or at a Champions League-calibre European club if the right offer emerges. His longer-term future likely lies away from Saudi Arabia, dependent on a contract solution.

On the pitch he has 18 goals and three assists in 22 appearances this season. He remains the focal point of Al-Nassr’s attack as the campaign resumes.
