Crystal Palace have asked the Premier League to reschedule their game with Leeds United on December 21 to avoid playing twice in three days.

Oliver Glasner’s side face a busy December as they are set to play eight fixtures in the Premier League, Carabao Cup and Europa Conference League.

Palace still face a congested schedule as the Emirates Stadium encounter comes just two days after a trip to Elland Road in the league.

Glasner confirmed the Eagles have asked the Premier League to move the Leeds game forward to Saturday.

He said (per BBC Sport): “We are trying the same thing that Arsenal are trying, to move our Leeds game forward to Saturday [December 20], so we don’t have two days between these games..

“We didn’t get a response until now from the Premier League, just to have the same as Arsenal, if their game is moved.”

Palace claimed a stunning 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Selhurst Park in September, but lost two of their next three top-flight fixtures against Everton and Arsenal

Glasner’s men ended their poor run at the weekend, as they condemned Brentford to a 2-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.

Jean-Philippe Mateta put the hosts ahead on the half-hour mark before Nathan Collins inadvertently headed the ball into his own net to double their advantage.

Palace sit ninth in the Premier League table ahead of Sunday’s home clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.
