Crystal Palace have approached Club Brugge regarding a move for Greek forward Christos Tzolis, according to The Athletic.
The 23-year-old attacker joined the Belgian club from Fortuna Dusseldorf last summer and quickly made a strong impression.
He bagged 21 goals and added 14 assists in 56 matches during his first season in Belgium. Tzolis has tallied three goals and two assists in seven appearances this term.
Palace have looked at Leicester City midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, but they are now also pushing to sign Tzolis.
The London club have already had an offer rejected by Brugge but will return with another.
Talks have also been held with the player’s representatives as Palace attempt to tempt him to Selhurst Park before the close of the transfer window.
Tzolis is a versatile attacker who can play in different roles across the front line. He is known for his speed, direct dribbling and powerful finishing.
The Greek forward is comfortable using either foot and is most effective when cutting inside from wide areas to create scoring chances.
His ability to operate as a winger or a second striker gives managers tactical flexibility.
The addition of Tzolis would not only cover the potential loss of Eze but also bring an extra goal threat to the team.
His arrival would strengthen the squad as they prepare to participate in the Europa Conference League this season.
