Crystal Palace have reached an agreement over personal terms with Angers striker Sidiki Cherif, according to RMC Sports journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
Palace are ready to bolster their striking options during the ongoing winter transfer window in a bid to convince manager Oliver Glasner to sign a new deal.
The club’s executives are confident they can get the deal over the line, and Cherif could become Angers’ most expensive player in history.
The 19-year-old has scored four goals in 17 Ligue 1 games this term after ending last season with no goals in seven league appearances.
He has done enough to convince Palace of his quality and huge potential, and he could be on his way to London in the coming days.
The Eagles are preparing for a future without Jean-Philippe Mateta. The 28-year-old is out of contract in 2027.
Talks over a new contract have stalled, and the Frenchman could be on his way out in the summer.
Paris FC had appeared to be leading the race to sign the Angers star, submitting a €25 million offer, but the Eagles have won the race to sign him.
AC Milan, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hamburg, and VfB Stuttgart have also been linked with Cherif, but he will be moving to the Premier League this month.
The Palace target made his first-team debut aged 16 before injuries slowed his progress, but he has since overcome those issues and impressed suitors in recent months.
