Crystal Palace are not panicking about the future of their head coach, Oliver Glasner, even as he enters the final year of his contract, according to Sky Sports.

The Austrian has already etched his name into the club’s history books after leading them to the FA Cup title last season, their first major trophy.

Since then, there has been plenty of speculation about where his future lies, although he has also been quick to shut down any rumours about his long-term commitment.

Speaking last week, Glasner said that “the time will come” for talks over his future, stressing that the hectic final days of the transfer window had left little room for negotiations.

He also dismissed reports suggesting he had threatened to quit if club captain Marc Guehi was sold on deadline day, while making clear there is no rift with chairman Steve Parish.

Palace are yet to officially open talks over a new contract with Glasner, but it would be a priority for incoming sporting director Matt Hobbs.

The Eagles are convinced that they have one of the best managers in the world in Glasner and fancy their chances of convincing him to extend his stay at Selhurst Park.

However, they also understand that there’s a chance he could be poached by a major European club after his impressive performance at Palace.

Glasner has previously been linked with some top jobs in Europe, including Bayern Munich. But he has always stayed loyal to Palace.

Meanwhile, Palace aren’t putting all their eggs in one basket.

Like any well-run club, they are carrying out their due diligence on potential managerial options if Glasner decides to leave at the end of the season.
