Santos returned to work at CT Rei Pelé on Thursday, a day after a 2-1 defeat to Internacional in the seventh round of Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A led to the dismissal of Juan Pablo Vojvoda. Cuca, already announced as the new head coach, did not attend the session.

According to Diario Do Peixe, technical coordinator César Sampaio took charge alongside under-20 coach Vinicius Marques.

The starters from the last match stayed indoors for recovery, while the rest trained on the pitch with technical and tactical drills focused on the next game against Cruzeiro in the eighth round of the Brasileirão.

Midfielder Zé Rafael has begun his physical transition after a left thigh oedema and may be available in the coming days.

Gabriel Bontempo remains in treatment for a muscle contracture sustained in the recent clássico and is expected to miss out. The most serious case is Vinícius Lira, who has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is not expected to feature again this season.
