Daiane Muniz will referee Sunday’s Palmeiras v São Paulo Paulista semi-final at Arena Crefisa Barueri, kick-off 20:30 Brasília time. The entire on-field officiating team will be female.

In an interview with TNT after last Saturday’s quarter-final, Bragantino defender Gustavo Marques sparked backlash with remarks about a woman officiating high-profile games.

Neusa Ines Back and Fabrini Bevilaqua Costa will run the lines, Marianna Nanni Batalha is fourth official, and Izabele de Oliveira is fifth official.

The VAR will be Thiago Duarte Peixoto, assisted by Fabricio Porfirio de Moura and Thiago Luis Scarascati.

Muniz took charge of São Paulo’s quarter-final win over Bragantino, after which Marques criticised the appointment of a woman to handle fixtures of that stature involving São Paulo, Palmeiras or Corinthians.

He later apologised, but Bragantino fined him 50% of his salary and left him out of the match against Athletico-PR in the Brasileirão.
