The one area of the Real Madrid team that is set to undergo a significant change this summer is the defense. Despite some additions, the core of the midfield is set to remain almost the same, and the same can be said about the attack so far, even though the addition of players like Rodri Hernandez and Yan Diomande can change things significantly.

However, the defense has already seen major changes. The Merengues have already signed three new defenders, including the World Cup winner Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, and Denzel Dumfries.

On the other hand, two players also left at the end of the last season, namely, Dani Carvajal and David Alaba. Despite it being more than a month since their departures from Real Madrid, neither of them has yet decided on his new club.

The Spaniard had the entire summer to find a new club, as he was not called up for the World Cup. However, the Austrian led his national team in the international competition up to the Round of 32, where they were eliminated by the eventual champions, Spain.

Following his World Cup campaign, the defender has remained in the United States for his vacation. He is staying in the city of Miami, and as Diario AS has reported, this vacation destination could prove to be decisive for his future as the MLS side Inter Miami are interested in signing him.

Despite the decline in his performances since his ACL injury in December 2023, the Austrian still can play professional football for some years, and David Beckham’s side is looking to join him up with the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and their recent signing, Casemiro.

Meanwhile, there is another option for him open in Europe, namely, AC Milan, where he will get to play with Luka Modric once again, after having enjoyed a very productive spell at Real Madrid with him.
