Juventus striker Jonathan David will ‘soon’ get an Italian teacher and hopes to score 25 goals in his first season in Turin, potentially playing alongside Dusan Vlahovic as well.

David scored a goal in Canada’s 3-0 win over Romania on Friday and released an interview with SportMediaset after the game.

David also scored on his Serie A debut for Juventus, contributing to a 2-0 win over Parma at the end of August.

“I feel good. I think it’s always important for a striker to start well and score,” David said.

“The goal is to win as many games as possible.”

David had said in his unveiling press conference that he hoped he’d score at least 25 goals in his first season at Juventus.

“I’ll try to score as many goals as possible. I’ll be happy if I score 25 goals, but if I don’t, I’ll still give my best,” he said.

For now, Juventus coach Igor Tudor has played with a lone striker, using either Vlahovic or David, but could they play simultaneously in Turin?

“Yes, I think so,” David replied.

“Obviously, it’s up to the coach, but there would be no problem for me.”

Juventus will face their biggest rivals, Inter, after the international break.

“We know it’s an important game for the season and the fans,” David said.

“We’ll try to prepare the game as well as we can. It’s just the third game of the season, we’ll see what happens.”

Can Juventus aim to win Serie A and the Champions League?

“Yes, I think we can compete in every competition, and we want to go as far as we can,” David noted.

The Canadian international also spoke about his life off the pitch and whether he’s learning Italian.

“I’m learning a little bit. I don’t have a teacher yet, but I’ll have one soon, and I’ll be a good student,” he said.

“I can say simple words, like ‘Buongiorno’, ‘A domani’, small things, but Italian is similar to French, I’ll learn it soon.”
