There will be yet another big change for the Owls starting from next season
The 2025-26 EFL season may not be officially over yet, but Sheffield Wednesday's new ownership group are not hanging about when it comes to making significant changes at Hillsborough.
After a protracted saga, David Storch-led group Arise Capital Partners completed their takeover at the start of May, officially ridding the Owls of Dejphon Chansiri and administration for good, and the good feeling around S6 was able to bring the club their one and only Championship win of the season on the final day against West Brom.
Storch however will know that now the curtain has been drawn on the disastrous campaign, hard work is needed to get Wednesday in the right shape to challenge for immediate promotion from League One, which has helped with the wiping of an expected 15-point deduction.
And whilst it looks like Wednesday are set to land a bit of a coup with Simon Wilson on the verge of landing their sporting director role after a successful stint at Stockport County, another big change is coming - this time for the club kits.

Since 2021, Sheffield Wednesday's official match kits have been produced by Macron, and they have left a lot to be desired at times by supporters - despite having a number of years left to run on the deal with the Italian company, the new Owls hierarchy exercised their right to terminate the deal due to the administration process.
And with Wednesday's deal with Macron described as 'not especially favourable' to the club financially by the Sheffield Star, they have revealed that the new kits are set to be produced by Umbro, who are no stranger to having the Owls crest on their gear.
Founded in Cheshire, Umbro made Sheffield Wednesday's kits initially in the 1970's, before returning in 1984 for nine years up until the start of their Premier League campaign.
Puma, Diadora, Lotto, Sondico and Elev8 have also made Wednesday kits since Umbro departed in 1993, but they are now returning to create Wednesday's new look for a new era under Storch and his fellow investors, in what is yet another significant change to how the club will look and operate ahead of 2026-27.

It's clear that David Storch has said and done all the right things to get the Sheffield Wednesday fanbase onside with his ideas - now it's about putting them into action.
And from his early reported dealings, such as the Umbro kits and Simon Wilson being lined up for the sporting director role, it's safe to say the American is not messing about whatsoever when it comes to making positive changes.
Only time will tell of course as to whether the Umbro kits look good or provide more value for money that Macron were doing, but historically it will take some supporters down memory lane and to better times where the Owls were in the mix for trophies.
The small matter of the playing squad being built on and new contracts being handed out of course has to be a priority now, with Henrik Pedersen needing the tools to be successful, but all the off-field stuff that's happening at the club is definitely generating a positive reaction.
