David Storch has sent a latest message to supporters of Sheffield Wednesday, with a brighter future promised at Hillsborough...
David Storch is at the helm for Sheffield Wednesday, with Arise Capital already putting building blocks in place ahead of the club returning to League One in 2026/27.
There are numerous areas that the club need time and investment in after Dejphon Chansiri's era at Sheffield Wednesday came to an end. For example, Arise have been busy of late after announcing David Bruce as Chief Executive Officer in the last few days.
In all, Storch’s arrival signals ambition. The American investor has already spoken confidently about restoring the club to their former stature, with Storch outlining plans to rebuild Sheffield Wednesday both on and off the pitch.
Wednesday's embargo has lifted on transfers, meaning they can potentially hit the ground running in League One. That said, there remain positions needing to be filled behind the scenes before activity in the market can truly take shape.

Speaking to the Sheffield Wednesday trust, as captured by journalist Dom Howson on X (formerly Twitter), Storch explained the next steps to securing the club at executive level.
He detailed what this might mean working alongside himself and David Bruce, stating: "We're going to create a product to make you guys feel very proud about being the fans you are.
"We're going to, first of all, put a first-class executive team in place and then work very closely with the executive team. Give them the space they need to do what we have confidence they know how to do.
"And be there to provide council and guidance, enthusiasm, support, and capital. And so what you'll see from us is very consistent with us is very consistent from what you've seen so far.
"You've heard David [Bruce] kind of elaborate on the processes as we see them. You've heard me say before — returning this club to the fan. This is your club.
"The club's been around for 159 years. We're owners for about two weeks and three days and for us to come in and kind of dictate how it should be is just not how we're going to function.
"So, we are going to provide the leadership, we're going to try and build on the culture that has been established over this 159 years, and then hopefully attract people.
"You've seen David speak and you're going to see some additional executives over time come in and do a great job."

Naturally, a new ownership group often brings renewed hope, fresh ideas, and the promise of a brighter future. But hope can quickly turn into pressure if results don’t match inflated expectations on the pitch and off it. Wednesday fans want sudden and rapid changes to occur to rid the club of the remnants of Chansiri's tenure.
That said, Storch previously explained he wanted to change Sheffield Wednesday's badge again — and he acted swiftly on that promise. That is one way to remove the damage Chansiri did and it's the kind of proactive decision-making and management the club now needs from top to bottom again.
Ultimately, his goal has to be to return this club to the top flight eventually. It’s a five, six, seven, or even eight-year journey or longer more often than not — but he is absolutely capable of delivering it if he continues with the actions which speak louder than words.
The appointment of Bruce and the rapid badge decision are already positive signs. Storch is saying and doing all the right things so far. The future at Hillsborough certainly looks a lot brighter now, even with just two league wins for Sheffield Wednesday in 2025/26.
