Davide Ancelotti will rejoin Brazil’s backroom team for March friendlies in the United States as the Seleção prepare for the 2026 World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July, according to L'Équipe.
The 36-year-old will work alongside his father, Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti. The two March fixtures are against France in Boston, Massachusetts on 26 March and Croatia in Orlando, Florida on 31 March.
He left his role as Brazil assistant in July last year to take over at Botafogo. His first spell as a head coach ended in mid-December with sixth place in the league and a berth in qualifying for the next Copa Libertadores.
A brief midfielder on AC Milan’s books, loaned to Borgomanero in the late 2000s, he retired early to move into coaching. He has long worked with his father, including at Napoli, Bayern Munich and at Real Madrid from 2021 to 2025.
Brazil, whose fifth and most recent world title came in 2002, will play in Group C at the 2026 World Cup. Their group opponents are Morocco on 13 June, Haiti on 19 June and Scotland on 24 June.
