Barney Stewart set the tone in the 17th minute with a close-range finish as Falkirk beat Hibernian 4-1.
The forward ghosted between defenders to turn in Calvin Miller's low cross (17.). He then doubled the lead with another instinctive finish from the centre after Miller's service (43.).
Hibs briefly narrowed the gap with a set-piece header (59.). Stewart then completed his hat-trick from close range, converting Louie Marsh's pass to restore daylight (83.).
He finished with five attempts, three on target, and seven touches in the box, plus three key passes, consistently pinning Hibs' centre-backs.
The Bairns repeatedly found him early with deliveries into the corridor, and his near-post runs dragged the Hibees around, giving Falkirk control of the key moments.
The Bairns visit Celtic next. The Hibees host Rangers.
