Thomas Tuchel has trimmed his England squad by eight for the final game of the break, with Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice returning to Arsenal for medical assessments, the FA said.
England drew 1-1 with Uruguay a few days ago and will complete the international break against Japan at 20:45 on Tuesday.
Tuchel initially called up 31 players for the spring camp, though several will not feature in either game. Saka and Rice only linked up with the group on Friday.
Noni Madueke, injured in the first match, and Adam Wharton are also heading back to their clubs. John Stones did not play in either fixture, the Manchester City defender was hurt in training before the Uruguay game and will undergo tests in the coming days.
Phil Foden, who went off injured, is not cited in the announcement. Tuchel has also released Aaron Ramsdale, Fikayo Tomori and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Seven players are joining the squad, including Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon and Marc Guéhi.
