Alexa Soto had a look for the Mexican side in the 48’, sending a right-footed shot from long distance but could not get past Bermúdez.

Guerrero tried once again in the 66’ by sending another long shot that Bermudez denied.

The hosts had a chance to get the advantage in the 76’ when Alexandra Pinell went one on one against Itzel González, only to be stopped by the Mexican goalkeeper.

The two teams would end the match in a draw to take a point each. Both goalkeepers collected their first clean sheet of the campaign, with Bermúdez posting eight saves.

LD Alajuelense will retake the field in W Champions Cup play at Orlando Pride on September 2. América will travel to Chorrillo FC on September 3 to continue its play in the Group Stage.
