Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski has insisted that his knee "is great now" after undergoing another procedure to try and finally solve a long-term injury.
The Swede has not played since May last year, when he suffered an injury to his right patella that ruled him out of Spurs’ Europa League final victory over Manchester United.
At the time, then Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said it "looks like a knock", but Kulusevski has since missed the entirety of this season so far after being hit with several setbacks.
Kulusevski has joined up with the Sweden national team to continue his rehab as Graham Potter’s side prepare for a World Cup play-off against Ukraine.
Worrying footage emerged on Wednesday of Kulusevski limping heavily around the Swedish camp and particularly struggling as he walked along a downhill path, but he has now taken to Instagram to address those videos and confirm that he has gone under the knife again.
Kulusevski posted on Thursday: "Just to clarify things. I'm limping because I had a small intervention in the knee two weeks ago.
"Went in and took out what was not supposed to be there. Knee is great now. Thanks for all the support. God is the greatest always."
Interim Tottenham head coach Igor Tudor said earlier this month that there was no new update on Kulusevski's recovery, which would suggest that a return to action before the end of the season is unlikely.
Although he is not ready to play any part on the pitch, Sweden coach Potter was happy to have Kulusevski around the national team during their camp in Spain.
"Dejan is making progress but not as quickly as we would have liked," Potter said ahead of Kulusevski's arrival.
"Dejan is in Spain, so I think he will come here and meet us. It will be nice to see him. At the stage he is in his rehab, it is OK for him.
"For others, it is more difficult because they are at a stage in their rehab where it means it is more difficult to be on the pitch. But Dejan will come by, and it will be fantastic."
