Ousmane Dembélé followed Paris Saint-Germain’s progress to the Champions League final by posting a pointed Instagram story that resurfaced past comments from Gavi.

According to L'Équipe, the forward shared an old press conference clip of the Barcelona midfielder minutes after PSG drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night to seal qualification.

In the clip, Gavi rejects doubts over his technique in strong terms, saying many people think he cannot play football, that they have no idea, and that this is the truth.

The post was quickly read as Dembélé addressing criticism of his season, which has been judged below last year, and it came straight after another standout display.

He had struck twice in the first leg, a 5-4 win at the Parc des Princes.

In Munich he scored again, opening the scoring in the third minute to give PSG the aggregate edge that carried them into the final.

Dembélé now has 7 goals in 12 Champions League matches this season, underlining his central role in PSG’s European run.
