Deportivo La Coruna have sealed promotion to La Liga, ending an eight-year absence from Spain’s top division.

According to Football Espana, 19 of the 20 clubs for the 2026-27 season are now confirmed, with Racing Club de Santander promoted last weekend.

Antonio Hidalgo’s side clinched the step up on Sunday with a 2-0 win at Real Valladolid at the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla, rounding off a campaign spent near the automatic places.

That result, combined with Almeria’s defeat at Sporting Gijon, confirmed Depor’s return. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will head back to Riazor, and the Galician derby with Celta Vigo will resume.

The final place will be decided via the play-offs. With one matchday remaining, no side has secured a berth, and six teams are chasing four spots: Almeria, Malaga, Las Palmas, Castellon, Burgos and Eibar.

Depor could still win the title if they beat Las Palmas at Riazor and Racing lose when hosting Cadiz next weekend.
