Derby and Libertadores bow, Corinthians face April marathon; see fixtures

Corinthians is getting ready for a true marathon in the month of April. That is because Timão has nine matches to play in this fourth month of 2026. The schedule leaves no room for mistakes, as it includes the São Paulo side’s debut in the Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil, as well as a derby in the Brazilian Championship.

Right on the first day of the month, Corinthians begins the marathon by facing Fluminense at the Maracanã in the ninth round of the Brasileirão. Kickoff is at 9:30 p.m. (Brasília time) for the match that marks the teams’ return after the FIFA international break.

Next, still in the Brazilian Championship, Timão returns to the pitch on Sunday against Internacional at Neo Química Arena. The clash against the team from Rio Grande do Sul comes before Corinthians’ much-anticipated Libertadores debut. Alvinegro will play its first Group E match on Thursday (9) against Argentina’s Platense, away from home, at 9 p.m.

After that, Dorival Júnior’s team turns its attention back to the Brazilian Championship once again, as on Sunday (12) it faces archrival Palmeiras for the second time this season at Neo Química Arena.

Afterward, Corinthians will play its first home Libertadores match of the season on Wednesday the 15th against Colombia’s Santa Fe. On the following Saturday (18), Timão visits Vitória at Barradão in the Brasileirão. Then, on Wednesday the 22nd, Alvinegro has another debut, this time in the Copa do Brasil, beginning the defense of its title in the competition against Barra, from Santa Catarina.

On the following Sunday (26), Corinthians will play at home again against Vasco in the Brazilian Championship. To close out April, Timão will host Peñarol on the last day of the month, Thursday (30), wrapping up the first half of the Libertadores group stage.
