A hard-fought victory over Lincoln City, which secured Chelsea's passage to the next round of the League Cup, provided an unexpected but valuable lesson for manager Enzo Maresca's squad.
The Blues' boss revealed that the challenging encounter was a novel experience for many of his players, who had never before faced a lower-league opponent. Maresca highlighted the immense value of gaining this specific know-how, crucial for navigating the unpredictable challenges of cup competitions.
