Didier Deschamps will take charge of his 25th World Cup match on Thursday, when France face Morocco in the quarter-final at 22:00, which will draw him level with Helmut Schön.
He could move clear of the German if France qualify for the semi-finals, according to L'Équipe.

Earlier in this edition he became the coach with the most World Cup wins.
Schön coached Germany from 1964 to 1978 and led them to the 1974 title on home soil. He has 16 World Cup wins.
Deschamps stands on 19 World Cup wins after the 1-0 last-16 victory over Paraguay. Carlos Alberto Parreira has 23 World Cup matches in charge with Brazil, placing him third.
