Diego Simeone confirmed on Sunday that he will stay as Atlético Madrid head coach next season, while signalling to the hierarchy on recruitment and resources. According to L'Équipe, the Argentine addressed both his future and the club’s ambitions.
He spoke before the meeting with Girona, then Atlético won 1-0.

Simeone said he is already thinking about the next campaign and about himself. He will continue in the role and is reflecting on how best to approach it.
He expressed hope that strong additions can arrive to bolster the squad.
He also underlined that financial matters lie outside the coaching staff’s control, adding that the immediate aim was simply to play a good match.
