After finding the net against Mainz, Ritsu Doan repeated the feat for his country. Ellyes Skhiri, Nnamdi Collins, Nathaniel Brown and Jonathan Burkardt also tasted victory.

Nnamdi Collins played the full 90 minutes for the German U21 team that won 6-0 against Malta in Fürth, taking their EURO qualifying tally to nine points. Germany are currently second in Group F behind Greece. This was the 11th U21 cap for 21-year-old Collins.

Germany’s senior team were in action away to Luxembourg, but Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown and Jonathan Burkardt ended up watching the 2-0 win from the bench. The team are level with Slovakia at the top of Group A, with the two countries facing off on Monday 17 November in their final match of World Cup qualifying.

2-0 was also how Japan’s friendly with Ghana ended. Ritsu Doan, who scored the Eagles’ winning goal last weekend against 1. FSV Mainz 05, bagged the second this time around in Tokyo. It was his 11th goal in 61 international appearances, with the 27-year-old coming off in the 68th minute. Ellyes Skhiri meanwhile played all 90 minutes of Tunisia’s 3-2 friendly win over Jordan.
