Gianluigi Donnarumma has not travelled with the PSG squad for their UEFA Super Cup clash with Spurs amid speculation he could leave in the summer transfer window.
The goalkeeper, who was one of the club’s star performers on their way to winning a maiden Champions League last season, has entered the final year of his contract.
Negotiations over a new deal have proved fruitless, opening up the possibility of the Italy international leaving on a free transfer next summer.
PSG have already accounted for Donnarumma’s potential exit, signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille. The 23-year-old Frenchman was one of the top shot stoppers in Ligue 1 last term, earning him a nomination for the Ballon d’Or’s Yashin Trophy alongside his new teammate.
With Donnarumma’s future up in the air, Manchester City have opened talks with the player about a potential move, which he is “keen” on, according to RMC Sport.
The Premier League side are monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation amid reports that Ederson could leave Eastlands this summer.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Galatasaray have made a “direct approach” to Man City about signing the Brazilian with “talks ongoing” on both the player and club sides.
That could open the door for Donnarumma to join City, even after they signed James Trafford from Burnley, although both Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the former AC Milan star.
However, Romano also reports that Chelsea are “not in the race” for Donnarumma, who will “clarify his position” soon.
Meanwhile, Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie have both travelled with the squad to Udine to face PSG, but remain doubts after missing most of pre-season with injuries. James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are both ruled out with serious knee injuries.
