Gianluigi Donnarumma has been shortlisted for February’s Premier League Save of the Month award.

O’Reilly and Semenyo up for Premier League Player of the Month

The City goalkeeper has been nominated for his astonishing late save from Alexis Mac Allister in our dramatic 2-1 league victory away at Liverpool.

The Italian international, who has been in inspirational form since joining City last September, again illustrated his class in what was a pulsating Anfield encounter.

And he produced a quite incredible moment of magic to deny Mac Allister what looked a certain leveller deep into stoppage time after Erling Haaland’s penalty had fired City 2-1 ahead.

In the 98th minute Argentine Mac Allister unleashed a shot from just outside the box that took a slight deflection and appeared bound for the top right corner of the net.

However, Donnarumma produced a stunning superhuman leap to his right and somehow got his outstretched hand to the ball to deny the Liverpool man and ensure we collected a vital three points.

Also, on the short list alongside Donnarumma are Guglielmo Vicario of Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves’ Jose Sa, Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa, Arsenal’s David Raya and Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.

Gianluigi’s nomination follows on from news earlier today that Nico O’Reilly and Antoine Semenyo are both on the shortlist for February’s Premier League Player of the Month prize.

Meanwhile, City boss Pep Guardiola is amongst the contenders for the Manager of the Month award.
