Dorival Júnior was sent off in Corinthians’ 1-1 draw with Cruzeiro, leaving him out of their next Brasileirão match.
According to Meu Timao, the coach received two yellow cards for dissent during Wednesday night’s game.
As a result, he will not be on the touchline against Coritiba on 11 March, in round five of the league. Between those dates, the finals of Brazil’s principal state competitions will take place.
In his absence, assistant Lucas Silvestre, who served a suspension in this match, will take charge. It will be the third time Dorival’s son has led the team.
No outfield player is suspended. The club have goalkeeper Felipe Longo, midfielder Matheus Pereira and forwards Yuri Alberto and Kaio César in the treatment room, with no return timeline.
The draw at Mineirão lifted the Parque São Jorge side to third, with seven points from four matches. Corinthians return on Saturday, 28 February, away to Novorizontino in the Paulista semi-final, with kick-off at 20:30 at Estádio Dr. Jorge Ismael de Biasi.
