Roma are preparing to resume training tomorrow afternoon ahead of their match against Inter.
One of coach Gian Piero Gasperini’s main concerns is the return of some of his international players.
Wesley returned to the capital early after his injury against Brazil.
He will undergo tests today at Trigoria, but his absence against Chivu’s league leaders is certain. Dovbyk, who until recently seemed to have ended his season early, could return earlier than expected.
As Il Tempo reports, the Ukrainian striker is following a specific recovery program following tendon surgery and will undergo a follow-up MRI scan between the end of April and the beginning of May.
This test represents a crucial step towards receiving the final green light to return to action.
Dovbyk is therefore aiming to be available again for the final matches of the season and thus contribute to the push for fourth place.
His departure in the summer is almost certain, however, with Roma set to acquire Malen from Aston Villa.
