Dovbyk out of Roma match with Monza | OneFootball

Artem Dovbyk is out of the Roma squad for Monday evening’s Serie A match against Monza, so Claudio Ranieri must improvise in attack.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday at 19.45 GMT.

The Giallorossi are coming off Thursday’s 3-2 Europa League play-off victory against FC Porto, which secured their place in the last 16 of the tournament.

Dovbyk had been expected to start that match, but pulled out just hours before kick-off with a muscular problem in training.

The Ukraine international is evidently still not fully recovered, because he has been left out of the squad to face Monza.

Bryan Cristante and Alexis Saelemaekers are available again, having missed the Europa League tie due to suspension.

Lucas Dourna-Gouath and Anass Salah-Eddine are not on the UEFA list, so they too can return to the side.

It remains to be seen if Paulo Dybala and Eldor Shomurodov will be confirmed in the starting XI after such a draining match on Thursday evening.

There could be a chance for Matias Soulé and Tommaso Baldanzi to step in.
