Dragon Ball Z voice actors praise Arrascaeta and Bruno Henrique’s fusion celebration | OneFootball

Dragon Ball Z voice actors have lauded Flamengo’s homage, with Arrascaeta and Bruno Henrique often marking goals with the anime’s fusion gesture.

"Football and Dragon Ball, everything ends with ball. I love Flamengo and I love what Arrascaeta and Bruno Henrique did. I thought it was really cool, I am a big fan of both, who are the biggest winners in the club’s history," said Mauro Castro, Vegeta’s voice actor, he told GE.

"I thought this tribute to Dragon Ball was beautiful. It is good to know the work, like dubbing itself, becomes part of many people’s childhood and adolescence. After all, football is part of the national culture, and dubbing nowadays is a cultural heritage of Brazil," added Wendel Bezerra, the voice of Goku.

The tradition began in 2019, when Gabigol and Arrascaeta copied the scene and Bruno Henrique even became a meme for the celebration. The stars still reprise it, and Gabriel leads it whenever he meets his former team-mates.

"We had a good laugh at that scene at the time. I never imagined that 26 years later it would still be as prominent as it is, with several players doing it. I think it is very cool," said Well Lima, who voices Majin Boo.
