Dreaded scenarios only a run of Celtic victories can avoid

There’s been a dreaded scenario pitched by more than a few Celtic supporters regarding the fate of the Scottish Premiership title, after the recently released top six split fixtures.
With the top three sides all still very much in contention to be crowned as Scottish Champions, it’s more than a distinct possibility that all three clubs could enter the last day with chance of finishing top of the pile.
Celtic of course will host current leaders Hearts, and the Rangers will travel to Falkirk, who could well have a Scottish Cup final outing very much on their mind, meaning the helicopter will be hovering between Glasgow and the Forth Valley.

There’s also the dreaded situation that sees our own club being out of the title race going into the final game, and one that would require the strange scenario that sees the Ibrox club and it’s supporters hoping for a Celtic victory.
As a Celtic supporter, what would you want in that situation? I think we all know the answer to that one, and it although we never like to lose, on this occasion we could all live with it, even if it means finishing in third place.
What if both Celtic and Hearts are one point ahead of the Rangers going into the final game. It’s 0-0 at Celtic Park with ten minutes to play and they are 2-0 up at Falkirk. So either Hearts or Celtic need to score to win the league and deny the Rangers. How tense would that be!

Celtic supporters certainly have no love for the Jambos, seeing them crowned champions would be a lot less painful than knowing we helped our bitter rivals win a title, and possible automatic entry to the Champions League group stage, and all the riches that go with it.
There is one way to avoid that dreaded scenario, and that is of course to make sure we win all our remaining fixtures, despite it looking very much like a tall order at this present moment.
Yes, our title destination is very much in our own hands, and we need to take full advantage of that and make sure we win our fifth consecutive title, rendering the last day doomsday scenario obsolete.
This weekend could actually be hugely significant. Falkirk will be determined to take the points against the Rangers and there’s a real chance of Motherwell getting something at Tynecastle. Hearts have not beaten Jens Berthel Askou’s side all season and they looked bang average in their 2-2 draw with bottom side Livingston last weekend.

Celtic need to replicate the performance in our recent win over Motherwell at Celtic Park tomorrow afternoon to make sure that we go into the split with real momentum after two back-to-back wins.
Apparently no side has ever won five from five matches in the split. There’s a first time for everything Bhoys!
