Matt Law was on the London is Blue podcast this week, where he spoke about an issue that’s driving him crazy at Chelsea at the moment.

Wesley Fofana’s red card was a huge factor in the Blues dropping points on Saturday, and it puts the team up to an insane EIGHT reds in all competitions this season.

“Every time we ask anybody at the club about the disciplinary issue, they never want to take accountability. They never want to call anybody out over it. And it’s really, really annoying,” Law said.

“Because it’s killing Chelsea. And it’s so ridiculous and avoidable. It might be the first of Rosenior’s reign. But they’ve continued to pick up ridiculous yellow cards in Rosenior’s time.

“Some of Moises Caicedo’s yellow cards have been absolutely mad. He could be the next player to get banned. He could get two yellow cards in his next two games quite easily [and face a two game ban]. It’s driving me insane this issue, that they won’t get on top of it, and that they pretend ‘oh it’s really not so bad.'”

Marc Cucurella gets his red card.

We don’t have much to add to that – Law is spot on. The lack of discipline is one thing, the lack of acknowledgment from anyone at the club that it’s an issue which is hurting them and needs to be dealt with is even worse.

A year ago today there was major trouble brewing at Stamford Bridge as fans rejected Enzo Maresca’s playing out from the back philosophy.
