Dumfries: "I feel at home: Inter and I are growing together" | OneFootball

Inter and Denzel Dumfries together until 2028: the Dutch full-back has spoken to Inter TV about his excitement following his contract renewal. A deserved renewal, after three extraordinary years: What does this contract renewal mean to you, how proud are you of it? "I am very proud, it's a special moment for me. I came here three years ago and now I have renewed my contract. They've been three great years, I am very proud to continue my journey with Inter". Since your arrival here three years ago: which moment has been the highlight of your Inter experience so far? "They've been three fantastic years, in particular the Scudetto win last season. It was a very special and exciting time for everyone. We worked really hard for this result. In general, all of the three years have been filled with excitement. I feel at home here and I am very happy to continue pushing forward with Inter" You're in your fourth season with Inter, what effect does it have on you being such an important part of this team? "I am very proud, I came here three years ago after the European Championships and after time with PSV. I have grown a lot as a player and a person. I am very happy that Inter have given me this chance and about the fact that we're growing together". In what aspect have you changed most as a player and also from a personal point of view? "When I came here, my wife and I had a baby, now we have three: I would say that this is a big change. Two of my kids were born in Milan, this is a very special place for us and always will be. In general, I can say that I love this Club. I have matured a lot as a player, I have developed and adapted my style of play to the playing style in Italy. I have improved a lot thanks to the coaching staff and Mister Inzaghi, who has made me a player capable of improving even more. I am proud to be part of this team". In what way can you improve further? "I'd like to be more consistent: on the pitch I want to the most trustworthy player as possible. I have been working a lot on this since the first day and I am already satisfied with my growth. There's been a lot of improvements and I push myself to improve more everyday". We are coming into the thick of the season, what individual and team objectives do you have? "We got an important and good win against RB Leipzig in the Champions League: winning this competition is one of the objectives, just like the league. In general, we want to win every trophy and be competitive in every match and competition: these are the objectives that we have as a team". Do you have a message for the Inter fan on what is a very special day for you? "I want to thank everyone: all of the Inter fans, since my first day here, they have made me feel truly at home. I hope to share lots more great moments with you all and I hope that there are many more".
