Brighton play their first Premier League match in three weeks at Burnley, with captain Lewis Dunk starting a two-match suspension.
According to WeAreBrighton.com, Dunk received his 10th yellow card in the 2-1 win over Liverpool at the Amex on 21 March. He will miss Turf Moor and the Spurs trip that follows, a reunion with Roberto De Zerbi.
Olivier Boscagli is in line to replace Dunk. He has impressed in the few starts he has made this season. He is likely to partner Jan Paul van Hecke, leaving Igor Julio as third choice while Dunk is absent.
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler said opportunities now open up and players must be ready to take them. If Boscagli or Van Hecke suffer a setback over the next fortnight, Igor could be used.
Hurzeler will serve a two-match touchline ban after a sixth booking against Liverpool. He was relaxed about moving to the stands, noting that assistants led the side to a 2-0 win at Brentford in February during his previous suspension.
There were few other updates. Jack Hinshelwood is managing a knee issue that forced his withdrawal from England Under-21 duty in March, but he will travel. The trip is notable given his father Adam debuted there aged 17 on the opening day of 2002-03.
Brighton’s internationals have returned fit for the run-in. That includes Kaoru Mitoma, who scored the winner as Japan beat England 1-0 at Wembley. He only came off the bench against Liverpool, so whether he starts now, and for whom, is Hurzeler’s biggest call, with Yankuba Minteh excellent on the left and Diego Gomez a favourite on the right.
