Paulo Dybala will miss out on Roma’s visit from Juventus after the international break and could skip the Derby della Capitale against Roma in April as a result of the tendon injury he suffered during the 1-0 win over Cagliari in Serie A over the weekend.
Dybala struggled to hold back the tears after being forced off during Roma’s Serie A victory over Cagliari this weekend. The club confirmed on Monday that he is set for a spell on the sidelines with a tendon injury in his hamstring.
Experts have explained why a tendon injury is worse in terms of recovery than a regular muscular issue.
“It’s not a quick recovery. Tendon injuries of the same degree are more serious than muscular injuries because the tissues regenerate slower,” Corriere dello Sport was told by Dr. Simone Ripante of the San Giovanni hospital in Rome.

There is also a slight concern that Dybala’s injury history could hamper his recovery process, although his age is not expected to be an issue.
“There is no difference between a 20-year-old and a 31-year-old athlete. The problem, if anything is the history of injuries. Dybala has had several. This can slow down his recovery even further. But then again, the prognosis varies from case to case, it’s impossible to be precise,” Dr Ripante continued.
