Paulo Dybala’s contract renewal is approaching.

“La Joya” has expressed his desire to stay in the capital to play in the Champions League with Roma.

Contrary to what was expected a few weeks ago, the extension is expected to last two years, until June 30, 2028.

The Argentine star will also be a key figure that the club will make the most of in their centenary year.

At a time when all the Giallorossi’s key players are absent from Trigoria, from Totti to Ranieri to De Rossi, “La Joya” will be one of the key figures.

For this reason, Roma has offered Dybala a two-year contract. It remains to be seen whether it will be a two-year deal or a one-year deal with an option for a second season, dependent on the player’s condition.

Paulo Dybala has a great admirer within Trigoria, namely Gian Piero Gasperini. The Giallorossi coach has spoken out about the Argentine’s contract renewal and wants to coach him for at least another season.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, if Dybala is physically reliable, then there will be no problem continuing together until 2028, the same year Gasperini’s contract expires.

The cut to his current salary will be drastic: Dybala earned around €8.5 million net this year (the fourth-highest paid player in Serie A, and Roma’s first), while the renewal will be based on around €2-2.5 million.

Performance-related bonuses will be added to this figure. In short, if Dybala performs well, his salary will rise, as will the length of his contract and likely the Giallorossi’s ambitions.
