This time of year can see any number of possibilities happen. For Leicester, there are a number of question marks throughout the club. It's unknown if Ruud van Nistelrooy will stay on or who will end up staying past the upcoming summer transfer window. The only certainty is that Jamie Vardy is leaving. Even there, among the possible destinations, a lot of speculation surrounds the Foxes icon's next move.

In this sport, many moving pieces can end up relying on each other. While Vardy has expressed his desire to stay in the Premier League. That may be the current wish. A lot can change on a day-to-day basis. Instead, a move to the Scottish Premiership could be in line for the long-time City striker if an EPL club isn't able to reach an agreement with him.

Things could potentially line up nicely for him with Rangers. The club recently appointed Kevin Thelwell as the sporting director. This is notable in that he served in the same role while at Everton and was part of the team that ultimately hired Sean Dyche to the Toffees.

LCFC supporters would celebrate if Dyche were to become the next LCFC boss. This past connection may pave the way for him to go to Scotland, however. In a good situation, playing in the top flight of a European league. Trying to bridge the gap between them and their Celtic rivals would be a worthy undertaking for Vardy to be a part of in his final playing days. Despite how the standings look, there would at least be a chance to qualify for Champions League, and competing against Europa League competition would all be an equally fitting final test for Vardy.

Paul Gascoigne offers take on Leicester star's possible move to Rangers

Being on a competitive side, fighting for something, and seeing better chances that allow him to still score goals are ultimately what Vardy is looking for in his next destination. When discussing the possibility and potential fit of the City legend transitioning to the Scottish club, Paul Gascoigne shared this with Casino Beats' Owen Fulda and asked about the option:

"Possibly. But Rangers is a tough team to play for. They expect you to be winning every game. But I’m sure he’d score some goals up there. Easy, no problem. Especially because he’s still got that pace."

As Gascoigne mentions, it would be far from an easy retirement gig. There are massive expectations at Rangers. In particular, their aim would be to make their rivalry less of a one-sided affair as it currently is. If there's someone who still has the ability to offer the needed dynamism on the pitch, it's the soon-to-be former Leicester man.
