Chelsea are searching for a new head coach following confirmation of Enzo Maresca’s departure from the club.
Maresca has left the club by mutual consent, with Chelsea saying in a statement that “Enzo and the club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track”.
So who could take over from the Italian? Here is a list of those in the running according to the odds…
The early favourite for the job is Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior.
Rosenior is an obvious candidate for the job. Strasbourg are also owned by Chelsea owners BlueCo and he is therefore familiar with their way of working.
The former Hull City boss secured qualification to the Conference League with the Ligue 1 side last season.
The Crystal Palace boss is out of contract at the end of the season. He has done a phenomenal job at Palace, guiding them to the FA Cup and sealing qualification for Europe in doing so.
Maresca’s fellow Italian has been linked with the job before, when he was at Brighton, and now manages Marseille.
He secured Champions League qualification with the French club last season and they currently sit third in Ligue 1.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder has impressed at Como, who currently sit an impressive sixth in the Serie A.
The Bournemouth boss is enduring a tough run at the moment but he has impressed in his time with the Cherries.
The former Chelsea defender is the head coach of Brazilian side Flamengo – his first senior head coach job. He has guided them to the Copa Libertadores title.
Former Barcelona boss and legendary midfielder Xavi has been out of work since leaving the Catalan club in 2024, where he won one league title.
