Manchester City take on Wolves in the Premier League in a rare Friday night clash for the hosts as their chase for UEFA Champions League qualification continues.

Pep Guardiola and his players will be looking to capitalise on their rivals’ errors as Nottingham Forest fell to a 0-2 defeat at home to Brentford on Thursday night, handing City a golden opportunity to gain further ground in the chase of the division’s top-five places.

Manchester City have hit form at the perfect time and find themselves unbeaten since early March across all competitions, reaching a third consecutive FA Cup final in the process too, where they will face Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium later this month.

The same can be said for Wolves, who have found a new lease of life under manager Vitor Pereira, unbeaten for several weeks while recording victories over the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham in that time.

Manchester City have been boosted by the returns of Erling Haaland and Rodri to first-team training this week, adding to the recoveries of Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden, and Ederson, while a trio of Oscar Bobb, Nathan Ake, and John Stones remain sidelined.

Ahead of the confirmed team news from the Etihad Stadium on Friday evening, some initial information has began to filter throughout social media from journalists and sources regarding Manchester City’s starting line-up.

According to the information of The FPL Newsletter, Erling Haaland does not start for Manchester City against Wolves despite returning to training this week, with Omar Marmoush in the starting line-up.

Further reporting courtesy of ‘FPLMaineRoad’ on X also confirms Kevin De Bruyne’s status in the Manchester City starting line-up, with Savinho named among the substitutes against Vitor Pereira’s side.

Pep Guardiola and Vitor Pereira are expected to confirmed their respective Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers starting line-ups around 18:45 (UK) on Friday evening.

Now confirmed.
