After netting another goal in Bayern Munich's 2-0 DFB-Pokal win over RB Leipzig yesterday, Luis Díaz continues to vindicate his €75million fee.

Speaking after the game, director of sport Max Eberl felt critics of the Colombian's transfer to Bayern have been forced to eat their words.

“We were criticized a bit at the beginning [of the current season for signing him], but we knew what we were doing.

"We were convinced he would fit us very well, not only with his goals and assists, but also his willingness and intensity.

"He showed that in Liverpool for years. We felt he was a great fit for the way we want to play football at FC Bayern.

“He's a very good transfer. Maybe some people will backtrack now and say: okay, maybe it wasn't too bad,” Eberl said with a smile.

It's safe to say, with 19 goals and 10 assists in 31 games across all competitions, Díaz has been worth his weight in gold.

The 29-year-old's former coach at Liverpool, Arne Slot, even confessed he missed having players of his ability at the Merseyside club
