Eddie Howe and the players hoping to follow up the excellent performance and result against Manchester City, plus the cup win on Tuesday when the NUFC boss made eight changes.

Ahead of the international break, three points on Saturday would really set United up.

Eddie Howe speaking at his Everton press conference on Friday morning:

Eddie Howe on the past week:

“It has been a good week.

“The Manchester City performance showed us what we are capable of when we are at our best.

“Then we had a result against AFC Wimbledon too.

“So, yeah, everything rests now on this game.”

Eddie Howe on playing home and away:

“The energy that the crowd give us [to press], the feeling of if a player goes or he doesn’t, that has served us so well at home.

“It is different away from home.

“Tactically, it is about our delivery, how we implement that.

“It is just being effective in what we do.”

Eddie Howe’s team news ahead of the Everton game:

“Alex Isak will not make the game. We hope he will be back with Callum Wilson for the game after the international break.

“Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schär should be OK.

“Martin Dúbravka took a nasty whack to the knee but it won’t be serious.”

Eddie Howe asked about the club’s delayed decision on whether to try and redevelop St James’ Park, or build a brand new stadium on another site:

“My natural instinct is always to stay at St James’ Park.

“To think about moving somewhere else… feels a little bit of a betrayal to somewhere that’s served us so well, but we are also well aware that we need to increase our revenues.”

Eddie Howe on the one year anniversary of that 4-1 win over PSG:

“We will forever remember that game as the benchmark of what nights at St. James’ Park look like.

“It was an amazing night; the atmosphere was on a totally different level.

“It is a big memory, one big highlight.

“We want that memory to, of course, live a long time, but we want to create new memories.”
